“Christiane Amanpour angrily calls for intervention in Syria”

That is the headline in today’s Huffington Post in regards to a video of Amanpour’s rage at others who were speaking against America intervention in Syria.

This snippet from her rant is what caused the hair on the back of my neck to stand up.

“The president of the United States and the most moral country in the world based on the most moral principles in the world, at least that’s the fundamental principle that the United States rests on, cannot allow this to go unchecked, cannot allow this to go unchecked…I’m so emotional about this.”

Whoa there Miss Amanpour, the most moral country in the world?

We have children killing themselves and each other on a daily basis.

We have a grown man kill a teenage boy and being sent on his merry way with the blessings of his peers because he was “Standing his Ground”.

We have the largest percentage of armed citizens of any civilized country in the world.

We have gray-haired ladies that feel the need to arm themselves; rather than going to a quilting bee they now attend firearm classes.

We have an

ever-increasing number of our citizens falling into the poverty class.

When these people take to the streets to express their pain and suffering they are told to “get a job”.

Our students and their college loan debt now surpasses credit card debt in America. While Colleges continue to increase tuition at a rate 3 or 4 times greater then inflation.

We have crumbling roads, bridges and schools and we are going to teach the world a “lesson”.

We have state after state restricting voting rights of their citizens.

We have the highest percentage of prisoners of any civilized nation in the world.

We think we can solve any problem in the world by dropping bombs?

Come now Miss Amanpour, before taking the high ground and claiming moral superiority how about looking in a mirror showing America as it is.

There, now I feel a little better, link to video and text …. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09/13/christiane-amanpour-syria_n_3919970.html

    • Or the use of chemical weapons by the U.S. in Vietnam and Iraq, tear gas against Occupy movement, Israel’s use of chemical weapons against Gaza in Operation Cast Lead…

      • Yes, and the list goes on. The Christian right and their “family values” only to be followed by cheering the death penalty and bombing abortion clinics. ah the hypocrisy is outrageous!

  1. Realpolitik is the winner in the weapons agreement. Too bad Amanpour felt the need to strap on her guns. Shouting matches rarely have winners do they?
