Grumpy Old People

Grumpy Old People

Went to the Publix store yesterday, and upon checking out I asked the young cashier if she ever got tired of seeing all these “old” people all day.
She smiled and said “No…. as long as they are not grumpy.”
I smiled back at her and replied. “You know, many of these people feel they have earned the right to be grumpy.”
These folks have spent their lives putting up.
Putting up with their children’s problems.
Putting up with being told what to do by their bosses.
Putting up with being told what to do by their spouse.
Putting up with being told what to do by their elected leaders.
Putting up with trying to survive through the hard times.
Putting up with the pain and suffering of losing a loved one.
Putting up with bill collectors hounding them for a late payment.
Putting up with watching the Detroit Lions lose another game.
Putting up with teenagers pulling up next to them at a stop light with the radio shaking their car.
Putting up with missing out on that promotion to an apple polishing brown noser.
Their buckets of “no you can’t do that’s” are full.

Every morning they wake up with the same pain they had yesterday and sometimes a new one is added to the mix.
They are now going to do what they want when they want, the world can go to hell.
So, there!  😉
