A funny thing happened in Vermont

“E Pluribus Unum” was the motto proposed for the first Great Seal of the United States by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson in 1776. A latin phrase meaning “One from many,” the phrase offered a strong statement of the American determination to form a single nation from a collection of states.
This leads to a humorous condition in Vermont. Where a young girl suggested the state have a latin motto in addition to their English motto.
You all have to check out the Facebook page with the irate tea party folk coming unglued over something beyond their thought process. This is worth a look for grins and chuckles enjoy my friends.

  1. I can think of more important issues that need to be addressed, but at least this proposal doesn’t harm anyone. Yet, Facebook is pretty scary territory if you want to engage in serious dialogue. Nonetheless, it’s wise for legislators to keep in touch with how people really think these days. My favorite comment: O esca vermium, o massa pulveris! Cur mundus militat, sub vana Gloria. (Oh bait worms, my dust! Why is the world as a soldier, under the vain glory – According to Google translate)
