We are all aware of the actions against the middle class perpetrated by Governor Snyder and his cohorts in the Republican Party in Michigan.

We know about how they passed the right to work (for less) law in a lame duck session of congress.

We know how they increased taxes on retirees.

We know how the cut back on earned income credits for workers in Michigan.

We know how they cut back on property tax credits for homeowners in Michigan.

We know how they refused to set up a state exchange for the affordable care act, creating another hurdle for those wanting to get affordable health insurance,

We know how they reluctantly approved of Medicaid expansion while delaying the implementation until April; thereby delaying coverage for those most in need.

We know how they have systematically pushed local school districts and communities into bankruptcy with their greedy taxation policies.

We know how Snyder has paid some of his imported “managers” with funds from the secret NERD fund.

We know that Snyder has been unable to recall when asked questions under oath regarding the Detroit bankruptcy case.

We know all this, and now we are being told that Snyder and his cohorts are creating a court system where they will be judged by judges they have appointed.

Do not know how this makes you feel my friends but, it scares me.

Bright sunny day today but cool. Enjoy!

I went to a meeting last night with some people that are working to get progressive Democratic candidates elected to our state government offices.

These people have a plan, a good plan. They are up and running in southern Michigan and northern Michigan. They are working on our area now and are looking for volunteers to help in the cause. We are talking about people who can spend a few hours a month.

Keep in mind that Snyder and the Republicans have followed ALEC’s instructions to the letter. This has given us higher taxes for hard-working middle class people. Taxes on retirement income, a reduction in property tax credits, a reduction in earned income credits, an increase in tuition rates and reduced services from our government.

ALEC has plans for continuing decreases in the standard of living for middle class people in our state. One that comes to mind this morning is their goal of putting public pension funds in the hands of Wall Street hooligans.  For more on this follow link… http://www.salon.com/2013/10/23/wall_streets_favorite_democrat_wants_your_pension/

We do not have the money of the Koch brothers or the Devos of this world but we do have the people, working together we can stop this onslaught on our lives.

Drop me an email or a pm or a phone call or a smoke signal or any other method of communication for more information on this plan.

Thanks for all you do.

Friday Morning thoughts

Tim Skubick has an opinion piece concerning Governor Snyder and Proposal A in today’s’ m-live.

Proposal A was implemented in Michigan years ago by the Republicans under the leadership of then Governor John Engler.  The proposal changed school funding from property taxes to sales tax. This brought on a decrease in property taxes and a 50 percent increase in sales taxes. 50 percent increase under a Republican governor, hmm?

With a majority of local school districts finding difficulties in funding, there is talk of revising Proposal A.

Governor Snyder has said he has no interest in getting involved in changing proposal A. Most Michigan residents now know the Governor does not walk like he talks and are leery of any statements made by him.

This is not to say Snyder has lost support in Michigan, the Koch brothers and Rick DeVos still back him.

In national news…

Glen Beck and his cult following believe an armed insurrection is coming or may be required to prevent the federal government from doing “bad things”.

This pumped up bullshit coming from Beck is believed to be the actual cause of ammunition flying off the shelves of retail outlets nationwide.

His followers are getting scared as he continues to build his bank account with his fear mongering rhetoric.
